As we round out the year, there are a few projects that are well worth celebrating. There's been good progress made in decarbonisation this year, and through EECA co-funding, businesses across Aotearoa New Zealand have received support to further their decarbonisation goals. Among those businesses are Silver Fern Farms, who are implementing projects to support their transition away from coal; Whakatane Mill who are investing in leading technology that will help significantly reduce emissions; and Meadow Mushrooms, who are replacing a diesel boiler with a low carbon electric alternative. East by West is another business at the forefront of innovation. Today, the company will start transporting passengers on their electric ferry across the Wellington harbour - the first electric ferry in the Southern Hemisphere.
