Auckland Transport has just launched Auckland's first extra large electric bus. The fully electric bus can carry 78 passengers and is being trialed on longer distance routes. This will enable testing of power demand and cost. The bus is currently being used on the 70 service from Botany to the CBD. New electric buses will be launched for Waiheke Island shortly. and will be on the Airport Link route from January 2021 These are all positive steps to reducing carbon emissions.
