Due to open in 2026 the new Penlink connection will be a toll road. Users will pay $4 at peak times and $3 off peak. There are currently only around 10,000 homes and about 28,000 people on the Peninsula that might benefit the most from the project. Greater Auckland takes a closer look at the plans and the finances.
