A temporary, water-level pontoon connection is being progressed. The pontoon connection will enable direct pedestrian access between Te Wero Island and Wynyard Quarter, just south of the existing bridge’s location. Initial estimates suggest it will take around 12 weeks to be designed, consented and installed. The pontoon concept was originally proposed by businesses in the area.
